Paris Police Report For Monday (Jan 10)

Paris Police responded to a suspicious person call in the 3900-block of Bonham Saturday morning at 1:01. Officers found Jack Devin Peek, 37, of Paris, and he had possession of methamphetamine and a bottle of pills without a prescription. Peek was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a residential burglary in the 2200-block of Hubbard St at 9:42 Friday morning. Allegedly, the residence was burglarized sometime between Jan 4 and Jan 7. The investigation continues.

Paris Police met with a victim of fraud at 3:44 Friday afternoon. Reportedly, the victim met with a person to purchase land in the county. It turned out that the title was not in their name, and they did not have permission or the authority to sell. The investigation continues.

Saturday morning at 8:40, Paris Police responded to an assault in the 2600-block of Lamar Ave. The 25-year-old victim reported that her 30-year-old boyfriend had hit her in the head with a glass bottle. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, and the investigation continued. The victim did not seek medical assistance.

Paris Police responded to 196 calls for service and arrested 11 persons over the weekend ending at midnight Sunday (Jan 9).
