Paris Police made contact with 63-year-old Steven Burrows during a traffic stop in the 500 block of Tudor. Burrows was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and was arrested. An unrelated traffic stop in the 2100 block of Ballard resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Dewey Hale. He was found in possession of four baggies of synthetic marijuana and was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
A traffic stop in the 300 block of Plum in Paris resulted in the arrest of 17-year-old Garrett Morris on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant stemmed from a May incident where several people were arrested for having stolen guns and allegedly firing them at a group of people.
Paris Police responded to a report of a man with a gun the 1700 block of Maple Ave. Officers were told that a known suspect had allegedly pointed a firearm at the complainant while threatening the complainant. The suspect then drove away.
Officers responded to a fraud complaint in the 400 block of NE 11th. Officers were told that the complainant had received a counterfeit $100 bill during a transaction with a known individual. The investigation is continuing.
