Paris Police Report For Thursday (Jan 27)

Paris Police stopped a bicyclist in the 400-block of SE 16th St at 9:40 Wednesday night for not displaying any lighting equipment. Joe Dean Barnett, 45, had an outstanding Municipal Court warrant. Upon searching Barnett upon the arrest, they found he had methamphetamine. Officers additionally charged him with possession of a controlled substance. Barnett was placed in the city jail awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police worked a vehicle burglary in the 2600-block of N. Main Wednesday morning at 10:06. The victim reported that he had parked his unlocked Dodge pick-up on the parking lot the day before. Since then, someone had stolen a pistol from the vehicle. The investigation continues.

Shawn Lee Gonzales

Paris Police stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light in the 1700-block of Hubbard Thursday morning at 12:08. The driver, Shawn Lee Gonzales, 45, of Brookston, had possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Gonzales was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 80 calls for service and arrested two people on Wednesday (Jan 26).
