On Wednesday, around 12:32 pm, a Paris Patrol Lieutenant patrolled the 900 block of Bonham Street and noticed a white male riding a new-looking bicycle resembling the recent $5,000 bike reported stolen. The rider claimed that he had bought the bicycle for $175 around a week ago from a guy on the Trail De Paris. Someone had deliberately destroyed the serial number. The victim arrived and identified the bike as his. Police released it to the owner. The subject cooperated with officers, and they released him. The case is still under investigation.
Wednesday afternoon at 3:00, police worked a Welfare Concern in the 600 Block of SE 24th Street, where the suspect had left the scene. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend/landlord had attacked her after they argued overnight. It gradually escalated to the suspect throwing his drink on her, grabbing her around her throat, and choking and shaking her. She stated his demeanor was “angry and evil” and feared he would kill her. Officers noted a felony report of Assault/Family House Member Impede Breath for further investigation.
