On Wednesday afternoon at 4:39, a Paris Officer worked a found property report in the 900 block of Clarksville Street. A store manager had found a loaded handgun in a restroom. The officer unloaded the gun and rendered it safe. NCIC/TCIC did not have a record of it as stolen, and the owner is unknown. Paris will store the handgun in police evidence.
Wednesday at 5:49 pm, a male suspect arrived at a store in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue, entered, and shopped $397.77 worth of assorted items, including a Lifetime Polyethylene Cooler, Tide Pods detergent, Reebok fleece hoodie, and a pair of men’s clog sandals. He did not attempt to pay for any items and left the scene before the store associate could stop him. They identified the suspect; officers will continue investigating a felony theft of property of less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Paris Police Department responded to 61 Calls for Service, arrested one adult, and initiated six traffic stops.
