Paris Police Report For Thursday, September 5

On Wednesday morning at 11:46, a female victim stated that about a month ago, she decided to move to Paris to the 2500 block of Graham Street to further a relationship with a female she had met on social media. Today, the relationship escalated to the female making threats and leaving a small cut on the victim’s neck by using a kitchen knife. A Felony Aggravated Assault Date-Family-House w/Weapon is under investigation.

A Paris Officer worked a security check Wednesday evening at 7:28 in the 1600 block of South Main Street. The officer made contact with Jackie Don Gardner, 67. Gardner appeared to be intoxicated on narcotics and was hallucinating. The Dispatch confirmed Gardner had an outstanding warrant from Lamar County for felony possession of a controlled substance. Incident to arrest, Gardner had possession of Methamphetamine and was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a third-degree felony, and was booked into the Paris Jail.

At 7:50 Wednesday evening, the department received a call that two male subjects were in an abandoned building in the 100 block of SW 7th. An officer approached the referenced building and observed multiple individuals. One subject was placed on the ground in handcuffs, stood up, and began running as the officer was attempting to detain a second subject. The officer captured the subject in the general area and arrested him for Evading Arrest Detention. He found Chanda Deann Morris, 41, hiding in a small closet. Morris had possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills Trazadone and Sulfamethoxazole, and police charged him with Felony-Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Misdemeanor Possession of Dangerous Drug.

Wednesday at 11:39 pm, officers initiated a traffic stop in the 600 block of Bonham on a Nissan for driving with no lights. A Paris Officer contacted the driver, who was identified as Marco Demon Perkins, 42. Perkins had a warrant out of the U.S. Marshall’s Service, and they arrested him for Cocaine—Sell.

Early Thursday at 1:30, a Paris Officer observed two individuals digging in a dumpster behind a closed business in the 1600 block of Lamar Avenue. Cheryl Lee Feny, 57, was wanted on a Felony warrant out of Lamar County for Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was booked into the Paris Jail.

On Wednesday, September 4, the Paris Police Department responded to 56 Calls for Service, arrested seven adults, and initiated eight traffic stops.
