A call of a suspicious person ended with the arrest on Jerry Duel Smith, 30, of Paris. Officers received the report of an individual going through cars behind businesses located in the 700-block of Lamar. When checked for warrants, Smith had a parole violation warrant outstanding. He was arrested on the warrant and subsequent search of his person produced personal identifying information on several people who he did not know. Further investigation indicated that this information was acquired illegally. Smith was also charged with possession of identifying information for fraudulent use, a second-degree felony.
