Paris Police Report For Tuesday (Feb 22)

Paris Police responded to a suspicious person call in the 3100-block of Mahaffey at 12:54 Monday night. Officers located Alex Wayne Goforth, 43, of Paris, running through the creek. Officers observed that an unknown substance had possibly intoxicated Goforth. During the investigation, Goforth had possession of checks that did not belong to him, and they charged him with criminal trespass and possession of identifying information. Officers transferred him to the Lamar County Jail.

Jimmie Ray Lane

Paris Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1900-block of Bonham Monday afternoon at 2:03. The vehicle’s driver that collided into the backend of another was Jimmie Ray Lane, 70, of Paris. Officers determined he was intoxicated. Lane admitted to consuming alcohol while taking prescription medications before the accident. He was arrested and had two prior convictions for driving while drunk, and they enhanced Lane’s charge to a felony. Officers placed him in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 68 calls for service and arrested four persons on Monday (Feb 21).
