Paris Police Report For Tuesday (Aug 16)

Paris Police responded to a business burglary in the 700-block of SE 19th at 7:55 Monday morning. Someone forced open the door to enter the building sometime during the night. Once inside, the unknown suspects rummaged through desks and closets. The victim reported that a desktop computer was missing. The incident is under investigation.

Jerry Edward Harris, Jr.

Monday morning at 9:21, Paris Police and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle accident in the 2000-block of S. Collegiate. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was northbound and had just left the roadway, rolling several times before coming to a stop. The driver walked away from the accident and into the wooded area. They transported two female passengers to area hospitals for treatment. The driver, Jerry Edward Harris, Jr., 30, of Bogata, was later located at a local motel. Officers arrested Harris on a parole violation warrant and added the charge of leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries. They also found Harris in possession of a firearm and charged him with possession of a gun by a felon. Officers booked Harris before transferring him to the Lamar County Jail.

Douglas Daniel Dehority

Douglas Daniel Dehority, 39, of San Antonio, was arrested in the 300-block of SW 1st St at 7:03 Monday night on a Lamar County Judgement NISI warrant. The warrant stemmed from an arrest in March of 2022, where Dehority was arrested and charged with fraud and possessing a controlled substance. They placed Dehority in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 76 calls for service and arrested six people on Monday (Aug 15).
