Paris Police Report for Tuesday Nov. 22nd

On 11-18-2016 at 3:08 P.M. Paris Police made contact with Jean Hall (21 YOA female) and Rickey Dotson (42 YOA male) in the 2600 block of E Cherry as a result of a traffic stop. Methamphetamine, Clonazepam, and marijuana was found inside the vehicle and both were placed under arrest. Dotson was charged with possession of controlled substance. Hall was charged with two charges of possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

On 11-19-2016 at 7:21 A.M. Paris Police responded to the 2500 block of N Main in regards to a welfare concern due to water coming out from under a door of one of the rooms. Officers made contact with Benjamin Freeman (54 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding parole violation warrant was was placed under arrest. Freeman was also found to be  in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine and was charged with possession of controlled substance.

On 11-19-2016 at 8:37 P.M. Paris Police made contact with John Humphrey (30 YOA male) in the 200 block of NW 7th after observing Humphrey behind a building. Humphrey was found to have taken pallets from behind the store. Humphrey resisted officers by trying to get back into his vehicle and leave and also attempted to flee from the officers by running. Humphrey was placed under arrest for theft, resisting arrest, and evading arrest. Due to previous theft convictions Humphrey’s theft charge was enhanced to a felony.

 On 11-18-2016at 6:29 A.M. Paris Police responded to the 400 block of SE 14th in regards to burglary. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the building and took numerous power tools, coins, and clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

On 11-18-2016 at 9:25 A.M. Paris Police responded to the 600 block of SE 6th in regards to a burglary of a residence. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the residence while the tenant was away and damaged numerous items inside the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

On 11-19-2016 at 11:54 A.M. Paris Police responded to a burglary complaint in the 1900 block of E Cherry. Officers were told that someone had forced entry into a storage building and had taken a chainsaw, a cultivator, and an auger. The investigation is ongoing.

On 11-19-2016 at 8:25 A.M. Paris Police responded to the 500 block of SE 3rd in regards to a disturbance. Officers were told that a known suspect had taken the complainant’s vehicle without consent. The complainant told officers that he had located and retrieved the car and was assaulted by the suspect at that time. Officers later responded to the 100 block of SE 24th to where the other half of this disturbance reported that he had been assaulted with a wrench by the original complainant. Both sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

 On 11-20-2016 at 7:51 P.M. Paris Police responded to the 600 block of SE 3rd in regards to a theft of a vehicle complaint. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had taken the complainant’s vehicle without his consent. The vehicle was described as a 2007 red Chevy Cobalt that was located in the 600 block of SE 3rd after it had been wrecked. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing.
