Paris Police Report For Tuesday (Sep 4)

Paris Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had defective tail lights in the 10-block of NE 13th last Friday evening. The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the driver, Jack Douglas Dennis, 52, of Paris resulted in the discovery of marijuana and methamphetamine. The passenger, Rebecca Marie Daniels, 43, was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine along with several outstanding warrants. Both were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Bryon Anthony Hale

A vehicle stopped in the 10-block of W Provine Saturday morning resulted in the arrest of Bryon Anthony Hale, 57, of Paris. Hale was found to have several outstanding warrants from Lamar and Delta counties including one for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle which is a third-degree felony. As the officer was attempting to arrest Hale, he tried to run from the officer. Hale was also charged with resisting arrest. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Tapas Reed Cohen

Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 600-block of Bonham St Saturday afternoon. They arrested Tapas Reed Cohen, 34, after he reportedly had assaulted his girlfriend. Cohen had previous convictions for family violence, and therefore, his charge was enhanced to a third-degree felony. Cohen was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Jeremy Wayne Gibson

Paris Police arrested Jeremy Wayne Gibson, 23, of Paris, last Saturday evening in the 800-block of Clarksville. Officers responded to a call of a burglary of a building, and while searching the building, Gibson exited the building carrying several items. Gibson was detained by security personnel until the officers were able to place him under arrest. Gibson was charged with burglary of building and possession of a controlled substance. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Kathy Mae Munoz

A traffic stop on North Main ended with Paris Police arresting Kathy Mae Munoz, 45, of Emory. She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and several pills that she could not produce a prescription. She was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the methamphetamine and three counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a dangerous drug for the pills. She was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Curtis Lee Thompson

Curtis Lee Thompson, 38, of Paris, was arrested last Friday on warrants charging him with burglary of a habitation and criminal trespass. The burglary warrant stemmed from a report last July where Thompson entered a residence in the 400-block of SW 18th and assaulted a female. Thompson was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Grover Allen Glatfelter

Paris Police arrested Grover Allen Glatfelter, 57, at his residence on warrants charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal trespass. The felony warrant of aggravated assault stemmed from a report on August 30, 2018, where Glatfelter threw a metal object at a city worker. Glatfelter was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Charles Ryan Crostley

Charles Ryan Crostley, 37, of Paris, was arrested at his residence last Friday on a Lamar County Sheriff’s warrant charging him with burglary of a building. He was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 341 calls for service and arrested 24 people over the past three-day holiday weekend ending at midnight Monday (Sep 3).
