Paris Police Report For Wednesday, September 4

Scheduled Storm Siren Testing for Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10:00 am

Depending on weather conditions, the City of Paris may test the storm siren system on Friday, September 6, at 10:00 am. If weather permits, Paris will activate two separate siren notifications you should hear. It is only a test. Usually, the testing occurs on the last Friday of each month at 10:00 am. Paris will cancel testing when inclement weather or heavy cloud cover happens.

Wednesday morning at 1:59, a Paris Officer on routine patrol observed a Nissan leaving a known high narcotics area and stopped it in the 1200 block of Northeast 6th Street for the driver for not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was Ruby Penny Washington, 57. The officer found crushed cocaine and a prescription pill bottle with no name or label containing five oval-shaped white pills. Washington was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Felony-Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Hydrocodone.

On Tuesday, the Paris Police Department responded to 72 Calls for Service, made no arrests, and initiated 17 traffic stops.
