Paris Police Report Friday Morning

Thursday afternoon at 12:42 Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Bonham. A known suspect had allegedly swerved his vehicle in an attempt to strike a toddler with the vehicle. The child was not hit nor was the child injured. The suspect left before police arrived.

Thursday afternoon at 2:55 Paris Police responded to the probation office in regards to a warrant arrest. Officers arrested Roddy Morgan, 19, on an outstanding warrant out of Lamar County for burglary of a habitation.

Around 3:17 pm, Paris Police attempted to stop a vehicle on NW 19th for a traffic violation. The driver failed to stop and eventually stopped in the 1800 block of W Houston. Officers arrested the driver, Joe Bob Clayton, 51, for fleeing a police officer. Clayton resisted arrest by attempting to pull away from officers. They found him in possession of approximately three grams of methamphetamine.

Thursday night just after 11:00 officers responded to a theft complaint in the 2600 block of N Main. Allegedly as the complainant was walking on N Main, a black male approached her from behind, grabbed her purse, and fled. She described the suspect as 5’-11”, 150lbs, with short hair, white shoes, blue shirt, and blue jean pants.

Paris Police responded to 118 calls for service and arrested seven people over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 am on June 30, 2017.
