Paris Police Report Monday (Oct 12)

Jerry Glenn Whitworth

Paris Police arrested Jerry Glenn Whitworth, 41, in Reno, Texas, on a parole violation warrant. Whitworth had possession of more than four grams of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest, less than 28 grams of Alprazolam, and less than two ounces of marijuana. Officers booked Whitworth and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

At 7:07 Friday afternoon, Paris Police worked a theft in the 100-block of Pine Bluff St. The victim reported that someone had stolen their black 2004 Chevrolet Impala. The victim said that they had left the keys in the unlocked vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 2700-block of Ballard St Friday evening at 7:14. The victim reported that someone had entered the home through the back door and had stolen some cash hidden in a drawer. The incident is under investigation.

The firearm owner reported it stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 3200-block of Clarksville St Saturday morning at 3:50. The victim said that the theft occurred between midnight and 1:15 am. The incident is under investigation.

Christopher Don Thompson

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 3000-block of Lamar Ave at 8:54 Saturday morning. A passenger, Christopher Don Thompson, 27, of Paris, had an outstanding parole warrant out of Arkansas. Officers arrested Thompson and later placed him in the Lamar County Jail.

At 4:07 pm on Sunday, Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 300-block of Stone Ave. The victim reported that sometime in the past three days, someone had stolen a key to the gun safe and taken two handguns. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to the 1800-block of W. Washington St at 6:17 Sunday evening about a disturbance. The victim reported that his wife had been cursing him and then attempted to run over him with a vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to 209 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on Sunday (Oct 11).
