Paris Police Report Monday (Oct 26)

Paris Police stopped a vehicle on Saturday afternoon at 3:48 for a seat belt violation. The driver, Martarris Quayvon McClelland, 24, of Paris, admitted to the officer that he had narcotics in the vehicle. McClelland gave the officer a prescription pill that tested positive for MDMA/Ecstacy. McClelland also had three outstanding traffic warrants. McClelland was arrested and is awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to the 600-block of SE 12th St at 8:31 Friday morning about a stolen vehicle. The owner reported that someone had stolen their white 2020 Mazda 6 during the night. The Lamar County Sheriff’s Department later located it in the 3700-block of NE Loop 286 and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled from the officers, and they later found it abandoned in Reno. The incident is under investigation.

Aaron Daniel Shehan, 29, of Paris, was located in the 10-block of E. Price Sunday afternoon at 12:31. Shehan had a felony warrant out of Lamar County charging him with abandoning or endangering a child either intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or by criminal negligence. At 2:39 Sunday afternoon, Amanda Jayme Ashworth, 29, was located at her residence in Paris and arrested on the same charge. They later transferred both to the Lamar County Jail. The warrants stemmed from a CPS investigation.

At 1:20 Sunday afternoon, Paris Police received a call about a stolen vehicle in the 700-block of E. Sherman St. The victim reported that someone had stolen their Gray 2007 Ford Edge from the residence. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to 220 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on Sunday (Oct 25).
