Paris Police Report Tuesday (Feb 9)

Paris Police responded to a disturbance call in the 1300-block of Clarksville St at 1:43 Monday afternoon. The clerk reported that a black male attempted to pay for merchandise with counterfeit money. Officers located Aaron Ramon Ethridge, 29, of Paris, in the vicinity. Ethridge began throwing counterfeit money on the ground and then ran from the officers but was apprehended after a short foot chase and arrested. Ethridge was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence, forgery of a financial instrument, evading arrest or detention, and resisting arrest. Ethridge is in the Lamar County Jail.

Aaron Javon McGee

At 7:42 Monday night, Paris Police were dispatched to a theft of a motor vehicle. The victim reported that someone had taken their car and that the victim was following them. Officers eventually located the car in the 700-block of NW 1st St. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. A chase ensued and eventually stopped in the 200-block of W. Shiloh, where the car became stuck in the ditch. Aaron Javon McGee, 27, of Paris, the driver, was removed from the vehicle and arrested. McGee was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, search or transport, evading arrest or detention with a car, and possession of a controlled substance. McGee is waiting for transfer to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 60 calls for service and arrested two people on Monday (Feb 8).
