Paris Police Report Wednesday (Feb 10)

Paris Police responded to the 1700-block of Lamar Ave Tuesday afternoon at 2:18 about a forgery. Officers arrested Rebecca Lynn Smith, 27, of Paris, trying to cash a stolen check and charged her with a financial instrument forgery. Smith had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Tuesday night at 9:23, Paris Police and emergency personnel worked a major accident in the 4100-block of SE Loop 286. The report reflects that a 2017 white Ford F-250 pick-up was southbound and crossed over the center lane and into oncoming traffic, where a 2006 Kenworth 18-wheeler struck it. Paramedics transported the 36-year-old driver of the Ford pick-up to PRMC Emergency Room, where he later died. They also transported the Kenworth driver to PRMC ER for minor injuries, and they treated and released him. The investigation continues.

A red 1984 Buick Regal owner reported it stolen in the 2400-block of Pine Bluff Wednesday morning at 3:44. The owner advised that someone had taken it from his driveway sometime between 7:00 pm and 3:44 Wednesday morning. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to 59 calls for service and arrested three people on Tuesday (Feb 9).
