The Texas Tribune reports that attorneys for now suspended Attorney General Ken Paxton asked Monday that all charges except one against him be dismissed. They said that Paxton’s removal would “override the will of the people” who elected him with knowledge of his alleged misconduct. In another court filing, Paxton’s defense team asked that all evidence of “any alleged conduct” that occurred prior to January 2023 be excluded from his Senate trial.
