Pedestrian Killed In Greenville Crash

On August 5, 2017, at approximately 9:27 pm, Greenville Police Responded to a 911 call of a vehicle striking a pedestrian at the intersection of Lee Street and Wellington Street. The pedestrian, Dwayne Calvin Phelps, was reported to have been struck by a 2014 Buick four-door passenger car, as he was attempting to cross Lee Street. Mr. Phelps was transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Jennifer Reeves. The driver of the vehicle which struck Mr. Phelps remained at the scene. The driver of the vehicle is not being identified pending further investigation.

Accident Investigators of the Greenville Police Department responded to the scene. Troopers with The Texas Department of Public Safety were contacted and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
