Pinckard Named MPISD Athletic Director, Head Coach

MPISD’s new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Ritchie Pinckard

Ritchie Pinckard was named Mt Pleasant ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach tonight by the MPISD Board of Trustees. Pinckard comes to the District from Ennis ISD.

“We are very excited to bring Ritchie Pinckard to Mt. Pleasant ISD to serve as our Athletic Director and Head Football Coach,” said MPISD Superintendent of Schools Judd Marshall. “Coach Pinckard brings a wealth of knowledge to our school district as he has years of experience as a successful head football coach with numerous playoff wins. He also has done an outstanding job at his previous schools as an Athletic Director, and we believe that he was by far the best candidate that we interviewed. His ability to motivate kids, his work ethic and his knowledge of the game of football are just a few of the reasons that he is our choice to lead Tiger Athletics. Coach Pinckard worked at Mt Pleasant ISD from 2008-2010 as our offensive coordinator for the varsity football team, and he knows our community very well. We are excited about him and his family, and we look forward to getting him here as soon as we can.”

Pinckard, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, played baseball at Westark Community College before completing his studies at UAM. He began his coaching career as a linebackers coach in his hometown of Fordyce, Ark. and coached at Hughes and Rison high schools in Arkansas before relocating to Texas. He has coached at West Sabine, Timpson, Garrison, DeKalb and Callisburg ISDs. He led teams at Garrison, DeKalb, and Callisburg deep in the playoffs.

Coach Pinckard will join the District January 5, 2018.
