The 271 Car Cruise was a huge success! We had 65 classic cars in downtown Pittsburg Saturday. Thank you Main Street for all your help. The Community Development Office of the City of Pittsburg is starting a new digital newsletter for business owners. The newsletter will be a way to provide news, opportunities, education and more. The Camp County Republicans will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday (Apr 16) at the Pizza Inn on Hwy 271 N. Judy Pollan, Superintendent of Pittsburg Independent School District, will discuss the upcoming eleven million dollar bond election on May 7. This meeting will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the issue. Come early for a light breakfast and a good seat.

National Nurses Week is from Friday through Sunday (May 6-12). This time gives us the opportunity to acknowledge, appreciate and give back to Nurses for the incredible work they do every day. Pittsburg Nursing Center, Hospice Plus, The Drug Store, Southern Wind Assisted Living & Premier Home Health are teaming together to provide all Camp County Nurses with a free lunch on May 6. We are asking all of the local businesses if they would like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank a Camp County Nurse by donating a door prize. All door prizes will be given out to these excellent professionals through out the day. Are you planning a yard sale soon? Wait! Every year Pittsburg, Avinger, Daingerfield, Omaha, Naples and, Hughes Springs team up to bring you East Texas Treasure Trails. We will publicize the event in local media, websites and Newsletters. We will even supply maps at each Chamber of Commerce. This year’s Treasure Trails will be Friday and Saturday (May 13-14). To be included on the maps you need to contact your local chamber.
