The Community Development Office is encouraging everyone to decorate their show windows and stores for fall! The Main Street Board is asking all Main Street businesses to have their fall show windows done the week before Labor Day. But we don’t want to limit this to Main Street. We hope to see all Pittsburg businesses take part and decorate for fall!

Pittsburg Police Department community water fight is Sunday (Aug 13) in the afternoon.

The Camp County Republicans will meet on Saturday (Aug 19) at 9:00 am in the Hanson-Sewell Center, 237 College Street in Pittsburg. Hope to have our legislators in attendance to discuss the special session, and we will have an update on the Leadership Institute meeting held on August 16. Also, it is our last meeting before Pioneer Days, so we need to discuss and work on ideas and preparation for that busy day.

We will be making some drastic changes to the restaurant portion of Anvil Brewing. Soon we will be open on Sundays with a special brunch on Sundays starting August 27. We will be doing Prime Rib Friday nights, starting August 18, prefer reservations, to ensure availability. Prime rib served with twice baked potato, salad, homemade rolls and a rosemary au jus sauce. We will have reservation only Dinners on the first and third Sundays. Dinner will be on white table cloths, with live music. The menu will range from Cornish game hens to rack of lamb, rib eye steak and cedar plank Salmon. We will start these dinners on Sunday (Sep 3) from 6:00 until 9:00 pm with jazz saxophonist Ladarius Daniels.
