The Chamber of Commerce is in need of a Santa for our Christmas parade on Saturday, November 24. It begins at 2:00 pm so you would need to be in place by 1:15. If you’re holly and jolly and you’ve always wanted to wave at kiddos from atop a fire truck, this is the volunteer opportunity for you! If you are available to serve as Pittsburg’s Santa, please call Christine at 903-856-3442.
Do you love kids, love the holidays, and love the color green? If so, the City of Pittsburg would like to speak to you. The City is in need of six “elves” to assist at the KCS Christmas Train event on Sunday, December 2, beginning at 3:30 pm. If you would be willing to volunteer for the evening (volunteers must be 18+), please contact Niecy Baum at City Hall – 903-856-3621.
Shop Small Shop Pittsburg – Saturday, November 24
You’ll visit the malls and big box stores on Black Friday, and you’ll shop all of the online deals on Cyber Monday but what are you doing on Saturday? This year the City of Pittsburg and the Chamber of Commerce invite you to join us on Saturday, November 24 for Shop Small, Shop Pittsburg.
What is Shop Small Saturday? It’s your opportunity to support the small business owners here in Pittsburg and Camp County. The business owners are excited about this annual event and are offering great discounts and freebies throughout the day. We’ll also hold a selfie contest throughout the day. Find the hidden “ShopSmallShopPittsburg” sign in participating businesses and post your picture with the sign on our event page FB@National Shop Small – Shop Pittsburg. Each picture you post at different locations throughout town is considered an entry. One lucky person will win an “I Shopped Pittsburg” gift bag, filled with great gifts from local merchants.
Be sure to check out FB@National Shop Small – Shop Pittsburg regularly over the coming days to see all of the great promotions and discounts offered by our local merchants. Participating businesses thus far include:

Families are choosing to move to Camp County every day. They tell us they’ve had enough of the hustle and bustle of the big city. At the Chamber office, we’ve had families stop by from Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Ohio and Colorado, all saying that they are ready for a slower pace of life. The number one question I hear, “we’re in need of contractors to help us build or remodel our home!” The problem I face at the Chamber, I don’t have a list of resources to give them.
Are you a builder, an electrician, a plumber, a home inspector, or a painter? Do you do yard design/landscaping, dirt work, concrete work or maintain pools? If you have anything to do with the home building or home maintenance process, we’d like to include you in our new Camp County Relocation Package. This new package will include statistics on Pittsburg and Camp County, a list of service providers (water, electric, phone, internet, etc.), information on real estate offices and title companies, as well as a comprehensive list of contractors.
Tony Herrera and Carrie Thomas, owners of Texas Rust Remodeling are thrilled that they joined the Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce earlier this year. “We’ve received numerous referrals since we joined the Chamber. We’ve helped several families with remodeling projects over the past few months, based on Chamber referrals. Everyone has been great to work with. We look forward to being Chamber members for years to come.” said Carrie Thomas.
To ensure that your business is included in the Camp County Relocation Package, contact the Chamber today by calling 903-856-3442 or email info@
