Pittsburg-Camp Chamber – News

Greetings from the Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce – Christmas is in the air. The parks, the shops, and homes are all decorated, and the Christmas trees are up. The kids have mailed their letters to Santa, and some spotted the Grinch around town. So you better not pout, and you better not cry, for I’m telling you why. Santa Clause is coming to town.

In This Issue:

  • Keep the Cheer Here Gift Card Campaign
  • Grinch on a Bench – Can you find him?

The Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber would like to thank our outgoing board members. Four board members are stepping off the board at the end of the year.

Josh Cato – Cypress Bank
Carolyn Franks – NTCC
Brian Freisth – East Texas Broadcasting
Tammy Heckenberg – Nutrien Ag Solutions

Thank you for your leadership…
Your service to the Chamber and our community is greatly appreciated!

The Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber is currently transitioning its office leadership. Christine Jackson, who has served as Executive Director of the Chamber for nearly three years, has resigned her position effective December 23. She has accepted a position as Volunteer Services Coordinator for Cypress Basin Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. It is the same position she held with CBH ten years ago. “Resigning from the Chamber was not an easy decision. I love our community and our Chamber and have been honored to serve as Executive Director. But, I’m also thrilled to be returning to Cypress Basin Hospice. Hospice service is a special gift for families who are preparing to experience a death in the family. Cypress Basin Hospice serves both the patient and the family and is a wonderful faith-based organization,” said Christine. “While I’m leaving, have no fear, the Chamber is in great hands under the direction of Sandy Thompson.”

Sandy Thompson has served as a board for two years and, during 2020, served as the second vice president of outreach. She’s worked in the office in the past, helping with Pioneer Days in 2019. Sandy has assumed the role of interim office manager and is currently cross-training with Christine. You can reach Sandy at 903.856.3442 or info@pittsburgcampcountychamber.com.
