As we kick off the 2016 Pioneer Days, the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Community Leaders Luncheon Thursday (Sep 15) at noon, at First Baptist Church. The Chamber is providing a full lunch with a guest speaker, Entertainment, and the newly crowned 2016 Peach Queen. It is an opportunity to meet and network with other Pittsburg business Leaders. Learn to Square Dance. It begins Tuesday (Sep 6) and Thursday (Sep 8) and runs for ten weeks at Mt Pleasant Health Care Center, 1606 Memorial Ave., Mt Pleasant from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The first three lessons are free introductory lessons and then the cost is $5 per student for the remaining course. The Good Times Ltd. Square Dance Club is a family oriented club that promotes square dancing. The club hosts occasional Country/Western Dances for its members. Singles are welcome. Habitat for Humanity of Camp County is proud to announce its Second Annual “Best Beans and Cornbread in the County Cook-Off” held during Pioneer Day. It is Saturday (Sep 17) from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. If you know that you or someone who makes the best beans and cornbread ever eaten you need to enter or sponsor them in this year’s cook-off. Get the bragging rights that you are due for either your cooking ability or the fact that you know beans about beans. Proceeds help us build a new home for Nicole Guel and her family.
