The Habitat for Humanity Ruby Slipper Gala was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came out. They say they will do this again next year.

Cypress Basin Hospice Thrift Store has moved from the Ice House to the Town & Country Shopping Center, 900 North Greer. They will have an open house/costume party Saturday (Oct 29). The Chamber will cut the ribbon at noon. Please mark your calendars and be there.

Barefoot Bay Marina; Friday Latin Night Featuring DJ King starts at 8:00 pm and goes to 12:00 am for Saturday’s Halloween Party! Entertainment features Hwy 67 Band from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am with a Costume Contest offering $50 first place $20 runner-up.

Theatre Northeast, the student theater organization of Northeast Texas Community College, kicks off its 2016-2017 season with four performances of ‘The Boys Next Door’ by Tom Griffin. ‘The Boys Next Door’ is Thursday through Saturday (Oct 27-29) at 7:30 pm, and Sunday (Oct 30) at 2:05 pm. This show was the first one performed by Theatre Northeast on the stage of the Whatley Center back when it opened in 1991. The performance is on the main stage of the Whatley Center, and reservations are not required. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students 17 and under, $5 for NTCC Faculty and Staff, and free for NTCC students with ID. Due to language and adult subject matter, it is not appropriate for children under age 13.
