Highway 271 Car cruise is coming April 9. Early Bird Registration is now open. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce office in a participating city to pick up your registration form. We will have goodie bags for the participants. If you have pens, key chains, etc. or if you would like to put a coupon for your business in the bags please bring at least 50 to the chamber office or call and I will pick them up. Your give-a-ways are a great way to get you name in front of people who may not otherwise come to Pittsburg. We also need Door Prizes. If you have one of something that a person from out of town might like to win while in Pittsburg, please contact me and I will pick that up.

Now open Jerry’s Bar & Grill serving full salad bar and soups. There are daily lunch specials every day. Business hours are 11:00 until 2:00 and 5:30 until 9:00 Tuesday-Sunday. Call-in orders are available by calling 903-767-0280.

The Fundraiser for our museum is Saturday (Apr 2) at 6:30 pm. It is at Princedale Country Club. This year’s theme is Jazz, Jewels and Jeans. It seems that people always worry about what to wear for this event. You may wear a ball gown or a pair of jeans, we don’t care, we just want you there. Invitations go out this week, however, if you do not get one, please come! I’m can’t send letters to the whole town. Tickets are $100 per couple. If you have something you would like to donate for the live or silent auctions, your help would be appreciated. If you have any questions, you may call 903-855-7671.

Historic Abernathy House Ceremony for the State Historical Marker Award and Installation is Friday (Apr 8) at 1:00 pm. The location is 406 Quitman. Speakers will highlight the home’s history and contribution to the Pittsburg community. Media outlets will be on hand to document
the event. They will serve light Hors d’oeuvres & Wine.
