Happy Thursday!

The fundraiser for our Museum is Saturday (Apr 2) at 6:30 pm at Princedale Country Club. This year’s theme is ‘Jazz, Jewels, and Jeans.’ It seems that people worry about what to wear to this event. You can wear a ball gown or a pair of jeans, we don’t care, we just want you to come.
Tickets are $100 per couple. If you have something you would like to donate for the ‘Live’ or ‘Silent Auctions’ your help would be appreciated. If you have any questions, you may call 903-855-7571.

Pittsburg Nursing Center is excited to announce the arrival of our new Medical Director! Dr. Mark James Morris and his Nurse Practitioner, Debbie Sanders travel with ETMC privileges from Rusk. Dr. Morris graduated in 1985 from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. Dr. Morris specializes in Family Medicine and his philosophy is simply “Treat others as you would like your family treated.” Meet & greet is Monday (Apr 4) at 5:30 pm, at 123 Pecan Grove.

Highway 271 Car cruise is coming Saturday (Apr 9). We will have goodie bags for the participants. If you have pens, key chains, etc. or if you would like to put a coupon on your business in the bags, please bring at least 50 to the chamber office or call and I will pick them up. This event is an excellent way to get you name in front of people who may not otherwise come to Pittsburg. We also need Door Prizes. If you have something that a person from out of town might like to win while in Pittsburg, please contact me and I will pick that up.

Now open Jerry’s Bar & Grill serving full salad bar and soups. Daily lunch specials every day. Business hours are 11:00 until 2:00 and 5:30 until 9:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Your call in order is available at 903-767-0280.

The ceremony of the Historic Abernathy House is Friday (Apr 8) for the State Historical Marker Award and Installation. It is 1:00 pm at 406 Quitman Street in Pittsburg. Speakers will highlight the home’s history and contribution to the Pittsburg community. Media outlets will be on hand to document the event. Refreshments include light hors d’oeuvres and wine.

CASA of Titus, Camp and Morris Counties endeavors to provide trained volunteer advocates in all abuse/neglect foster care cases assigned by the Courts. CASA Volunteer Training begins Monday (Apr 11). Please call 903.717.8940 or visit www.casatcm.org to learn more about becoming a CASA Volunteer.

If you have something you want in the Chamber News, just email it before Wednesday, and I’ll get it in for the following Thursday.
