Pontotoc County Woman Pleads No-Contest To Embezzlement

A Pontotoc County woman has pleaded no contest to embezzling more than $37,000. Formerly, 41-year-old Marla Whitaker of Roff worked as the town treasurer and clerk, as well as secretary of the East Hill Cemetery Association. She was sentenced to 10 years probation. She has already paid back $11,000 but must still pay $26,000 in restitution.
