Possible Restrictions On Plant-Based ” Meat”

The State of Texas is considering placing more restrictions on plant-based products like the impossible burger. Ranchers want to change the labeling rules, so only things that come from an animal can be called “meat.” Plant-based proteins would not be allowed to use the word “meat,” but would also be banned from using other words that conjure images of meat, like burger or photos of animals.
