A Powderly family lost their home to fire early Wednesday morning, in a blaze that is believed to have started in a dryer. There were no injuries, but the house was totally destroyed. Volunteers from several departments responded to the fire at CR36990 about 3:40am and learned that the home was occupied by a Powderly firefighter and his family. The Powderly fire department is planning a benefit, because he had no renters insurance.
