A pre-trial hearing for a former East Texas District Attorney on trial for multiple charges has been rescheduled for May 27. Former Gregg County DA Robert Foster was arrested in February of 2015 for DWI, Possession of between 4 and 200 grams of a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Foster says his statements to police after his arrest were involuntary and coerced and he was denied his right to an attorney. He has filed a motion to have those statements suppressed. Jury selection for his trial is scheduled for August.
