Private Insurance To Cover OTC COVID Tests

There’s a call from the state for rural hospitals and nursing homes to claim the cash. Today, the deadline is to apply for $128 million under the American Rescue Plan. Christine Mann with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services says 90 percent of eligible facilities have applied for the COVID funding. Nursing homes must use their $75 thousand allotments for staffing. Rural hospitals are eligible for $250,000. They have more discretion and can put the funds towards staffing, revenue losses related to the pandemic or infrastructure.
