Private Prison Loses Contract With TDCJ

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has terminated the contract of “Core Civic,” the private operator of the Bradshaw State Jail Unit in Henderson. The company will now lay off 192 employees, effective August 31, but many of the workers will be rehired when Management & Training Corp. of Centerville, Utah, begins its contract to operate and manage the jail on September 1.
