Professional Golfers’ Association Of America’s Headquarters Is Relocating To Frisco

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that The Professional Golfers’ Association of America (The PGA of America) will relocate its headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to Frisco, Texas, bringing $30 million in capital investment and a minimum of 100 new jobs to the state of Texas. Founded in 1916, The PGA of America is an organization of professional golfers with over 29,000 members. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of up to $1,500,000 has been extended to The PGA of America.

“For years, the PGA of America has served its membership all across the nation where they engage their local communities, and help to raise over $4 billion annually,” said Governor Abbott. “The decision to relocate their headquarters to Texas because of our business-friendly climate is a welcome one. I thank the PGA of America for the new jobs and investment that they will bring to the City of Frisco, wish them continued success, and welcome them to the Lone Star State, the home of champions.”

“The PGA of America is very proud to call Frisco our new home,” said CEO Seth Waugh. “We welcome the opportunity to develop friendships and partnerships with the community and its residents, as well as across North Texas and throughout the state. We are grateful to the City of Frisco, the State of Texas and Omni Stillwater Woods for embracing our vision of creating a transformational headquarters that, together with our world-class partners, helps us advance our mission of serving our nearly 29,000 PGA Golf Professionals and growing the game.”

“Today is both historic and transformational for the City of Frisco,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney. “Not only will this signature development change the future of Frisco’s northern landscape, but it will also transform the sport, growing a new generation of pros, fans and golf enthusiasts. As Sports City, USA, we’re thrilled to partner with another world-class brand like PGA of America. We’re also honored Omni is, once again, committing such a huge investment in our community, recognizing the potential to grow entertainment, tourism and economic development in one of the fastest growing cities in America.”

Under Governor Abbott’s leadership, the Texas Enterprise Fund helped to close the deal on 29 projects in 2015-2018 that committed over $853 million in new capital investments and more than 16,500 new direct jobs all across the state, from Amarillo to the Rio Grande Valley and communities in between. The TEF also serves as a jobs multiplier, supporting thousands more indirect jobs at existing local and small businesses. The $70 million invested in job creation during Governor Abbott’s administration also helped close the deal on eight corporate headquarter relocations to Texas. Administered by the Economic Development and Tourism Division within the Office of the Governor, the Texas Enterprise Fund helps to strengthen the state’s already diverse and growing economy and attract new jobs to communities across the state.
