Project G.I.V.E. Supports Education In Africa

Socrates students at Justiss and Aikin Elementary participated in Operation G.I.V.E., Girls Involved In A Valuable Education, and collected $324 for Brightland Academy for Girls in Cameroon, Africa. The students set a goal to assist parents in financing one student. As a result of generous contributions and fundraising events, they will help twelve girls obtain an education.

The students received thank-you letters from the students that received the donation. Communication between the students will continue, and they will share what they are learning. The Socrates students gave presentations over what they learned through the service project and designed t-shirts to commemorate Operation G.I.V.E. Their teacher is Tammy King.
