Property Taxes Are Still Due Today

Those procrastinating taxpayers who have waited until the last minute to pay property taxes won’t be able to blame the bad weather if they get a late penalty. Property taxes were due upon receipt last October and will become delinquent Tuesday at midnight. So even if your tax office is closed because of weather conditions, they are due. You can pay by mail if they are postmarked before midnight tonight. There is a seven percent penalty for those who don’t have Jan. 31 postmarks or don’t drop their payments off at the tax office.
