Rangers Drop Game in Seattle Plus Cowboys Back on Sunday

Paris – Area football teams are back in action Friday night. The Paris Wildcats welcome in Sulphur Springs to Wildcat Stadium. Hear the action on 101.9 KBUS with pre-game starting at 7pm. The North Lamar Panthers are at RL Maddox Stadium as they host Greenville. Pre-game on MIX 107.7 begins at 7 as well. And our KOYN Game of the week will feature the Chisum Mustangs against Bells. Prairiland travels to Winnsboro. Detroit welcomes Quinlan Boles. Cooper travels to Callisburg. Rivercrest is at Trenton. And Honey Grove hosts Blue Ridge.

Mount Pleasant – Area football teams are back in action Friday night. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers play their home opener at Sam Parker Field against Sherman on K LAKE 97.7. Kickoff is at 7pm. The Star Country game of the week will feature the Paul Pewitt Brahmas against the Hughes Springs Mustangs on 96.9. The Pittsburg Pirates look to remain unbeaten when they host Henderson. Kickoff is at 7:30. Daingerfield will be on the road against New Boston. Mt. Vernon travels to Hooks. Rivercrest is at Trenton. And the Gilmer Buckeyes will be in Argyle to play Liberty Christian.

Sulphur Springs – Area teams will be back in action this Friday night for week 3 of the Texas high school football season. On Star Country 95.9, the Sulphur Springs Wildcats visit the Paris Wildcats. Sulphur Springs and Paris each sport a 1-1 record on the season. Kick off on Star 95.9 is at 7:30. Mt. Vernon travels to Hooks. Cooper will be at Callisburg. Greenville takes on North Lamar in Paris. Como Pickton visits Hawkins. Rains will go to Farmersville and Winnsboro hosts Prairiland.

Last night the Texas Rangers fall to the Seattle Mariners 8-3. The starting pitching struggled once again, while all of the Ranger offense came off one swing of the bat from Carlos Beltran. Texas is now 83-57 on the season, but remain 8.5 games up in the AL West. The Rangers look for a split with the Mariners tonight [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm]. First pitch is at 9:10.

On Sunday afternoon the Dallas Cowboys play their season opener against the New York Giants. Dallas will start a pair of rookies in the backfield with 4th round quarterback, Dak Prescott starting. Behind him with be the 4th overall pick in the draft, running back Ezekiel Elliott. Dez Bryant and Lance Dunbar look for strong returns from an injury plagued 2015 season, while Byron Jones and Sean Lee anchor a defense with lots of question marks. Kick off on Sunday [on 101.9 KBUS] is set for 3:25pm.
