Rangers Take M’s Plus Cowboys Look to Cut Down Roster

 

Paris – High school volleyball action picks back up tonight. The North Lamar Pantherette’s, fresh off their 2nd place finish at the Tyler Invitational over the weekend, host Royse City at Pantherette gym. The Paris Lady Cats travel to Sulphur Springs. The Chisum Lady Mustangs host Commerce. The Prairiland Lady Patriots visit Texas High and the Detroit Lady Eagles will host Como-Pickton. Varsity matches begin at 6:30.

Mount Pleasant – High school volleyball action picks back up tonight for area teams. The Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers will host Pleasant Grove at Willie Williams gym. The Pittsburg Lady Pirates host Wolfe City. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers host DeKalb. The Paul Pewitt Lady Brahmas visit Jefferson and the Daingerfield Lady Tigers visit Ore City. Those matches begin at 6:30. The Chapel Hill Lady Devils host Arkansas High at 5:30.

Sulphur Springs – High school volleyball action picks back up tonight for area teams. The Cumby Lady Trojans travel to square off with the Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears. Match time is set for 4:30. Sulphur Springs Lady Cats host the Prairiland Lady Patriots at Wildcat Gym. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers host DeKalb. The Commerce Lady Tigers will travel to Chisum. Those matches begin at 5:30. The North Hopkins Lady Panthers host Roxton at 5pm.

Last night the Texas Rangers double up the Seattle Mariners 6-3. Yu Darvish picked up his 5th win on the mound while Carlos Beltran had the big blast of the night with a solo homer in the first inning. The Rangers are now 78-54 on the season and lead the AL West by 8.5 games over the Houston Astros. The Rangers and Mariners play game two tonight [on kplt 1490am and 96.3fm]. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.

On Thursday night [on 101.9 KBUS] the Dallas Cowboys finish up the pre-season against the Houston Texans at AT&T Stadium. Starters are not expected to play much, if any time in the final preseason game. The bulk of the time will go to players on the bubble for the final cut down. Today at 3pm, the Cowboys must trim the roster down from 83 to 75 and down to 53 on September 3rd.
