Yesterday afternoon the Texas Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 6-2 to claim the series win. Prince Fielder has been coming around lately, adding a two-run homer. Prince has hit .353 over the last six games. The Rangers at 49-27 now own the best record in Major League Baseball. Next, Texas begins a four game set in the Bronx against the Yankee’s. It’ll be Chi Chi Gonzalez called up for the start. First pitch [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm] is set for 6:05pm Central time.

After 84 straight races without a victory, Tony Stewart draws the checkered flag, winning yesterday evening in Sonoma. Denny Hamlin led for 33 laps, but finished behind the Stewart in the number 14 Chevy. Coming up in the Sprint Cup Series, Daytona, on Saturday July 2nd.

Chile and Argentina ended extra time knotted at nil, but it would be the Chileans coming out on top in penalty kicks 4-2 to win the Copa America Championship. Francisco Silva netted the final PK to clinch the win. It’s the second straight Copa America tournament in which Chile has defeated the Argentinians in the finals.
