Record Migrant Encounters For September

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports that the total number of migrant encounters exceeded 260,000 in September, which breaks the previous record of 252,320 set back in December of 2022. This figure includes meetings with the Border Patrol between ports of entry and with the Office of Field Operations at the ports. Each day, agents encounter between 10,000 and 11,000 migrants at the southern border.
