Reprieve Issued In Upcoming Execution

A north Texas man slated to receive a lethal injection next week has been granted a stay of execution by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Stephen Barbee was condemned in Tarrant County for murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend and her seven-year-old son. The appellate court ruled that Barbee’s trial attorneys went against his wishes and conceded his guilt to jurors.
