Road Conditions Contribute to Double Fatality Crash Near Clarksville

A mother and son were killed Sunday afternoon on Hwy 82 in Red River County near Clarksville in a collision blamed on the wet roads and rainy conditions. State Troopers say a car driven by 16 year old Luke Aaron Simpson of Clarksville hydroplaned, crossed over the center line and collided with another vehicle. Luke, and 39 year old Lamystia R. Simpson of Clarksville were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman in the other vehicle was transported to a Texarkana hospital and then flown to a major trauma hospital in Arkansas.
