RRV HS Basketball Plus Mavs Win In Pre-Season In Today’s Sports

Basketball in the RRV continues tonight.

The Prairiland Lady Patriots will host Grand Saline tonight while the Patriots travel to Cooper. The NL Panthers are at home against Melissa, Chisum Mustangs will travel to Wolfe City, and the Chisum Lady Mustangs host Commerce. The Detroit girls host Maud while the boys travel to North Hopkins.

They canceled the Paris Wildcats game with Princeton due to Princeton having to quarantine.

They handed out the football awards in district 6-2A. Cooper’s Chase Morales received district MVP, his teammate Jaxson Mcguire was the defensive lineman of the year. Cooper also received coach of the year.
Rivercrest‘s Will Grider received offensive player of the year, Ethan Taylor was Defensive Newcomer of the year, and Cole Carson received offensive lineman of the year honors.

For the second preseason game in a row, the Dallas Mavericks took control in the 3rd quarter over the Milwaukee Bucks. And for the second time, Dallas walked away with a victory. This time 128-112. Luka Doncic finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Josh Richardson added 23 points for the Mavs. Dallas made 22-3’s in the game. Dallas will play their final preseason game Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Oregon will replace Washington in the Pac-12 championship game, as the Huskies informed the conference Monday that COVID-19 depleted their roster into complications. The Ducks will take on USC on Friday.
