Rural Phone Companies Sue PUC

The fate of small and rural phone companies in Texas is in question as the state has slashed the subsidies the companies say are needed to continue to provide service. Nearly 50 of them filed suit against the Public Utility Commission over the cut. The Texas Telephone Association says more than a million Texas households could be without any service, including phones and broadband. They filed the suit just a few days before Governor Abbott called on the state legislature to ensure that every zip code in the state has broadband access.
