The Second Salsa on the Square, held September 21, brought 1,800 people downtown for an evening of entertainment, including great music, dancing, delicious food, and fun.

In addition to Salsa dancing, organizers incorporated a best “salsa” competition between local restaurants. Event coordinators invited local Paris restaurants to join in a friendly competition for Best Salsa. Seven local restaurant owners joined in the first-time event. They include Alex Tacos, Sr. Submarine and Taqueria, Chabelo’s, Garibaldi’s Mexican Restaurant, TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant, Campbell’s Co, and La Bella Airosa. TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant sponsored the chips for all the restaurants at the event. They asked contestants to bring approximately four gallons of Salsa from their restaurant. The competition started at 6:30 pm and lasted until 8:45. The general public could taste the salsas from the different restaurants and then vote on which one they liked the best using a QR code voter card on each serving table.

The Main Street Advisory Board is pleased to announce the Inaugural best Salsa competition winner, La Bella Airosa, at 1335 19th ST SW. Of the seven restaurants participating, La Bella Airosa received 34% of the popular votes and a certificate and trophy from the Main Street Advisory Board. “The Main Street Advisory Board would like to thank all who participated in and sponsored the Second Salsa on the Square event,” says Glee Emmite, Chair of the Main Street Advisory Board.

Sponsors included Richard Drake Construction, 247 Mesa, Paris Regional Medical Center, Todus Unidos, Credit Union of Texas, and TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant.
