The Coronavirus has struck the Salvation Army of Paris and Lamar County. Because of social distancing, the thrift store, which is the primary source of funding for the organization, had to shut down. Plus, donations are down. There has also been a significant increase in people needing assistance because of business closures and layoffs. The Salvation Army remains open – but they need help. Donations may be made at the office at 350 W. Kaufman St. between the hours of 9 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 2 p.m., or by mail to PO Box 689, Paris, Texas.
