Sentencing Scheduled For Smith County Constable

A judge set September 12 as the sentencing date for Smith County Precinct 1 Constable Henry Phillip Jackson, 65. Jackson pleaded guilty in May to federal income tax violations. He is currently out on bond. Officials based the charges on income Jackson and his wife received from 2010 to 2013. Jackson owes more than $160,000 in taxes on about $720,000 income he received from various sources.
