Several Texoma Counties Designated Drought Disasters

The U.S. Drought Monitor declared Lamar, Fannin, Choctaw, and Bryan counties a drought disaster. During the growing season, they suffered from a drought intensity value for eight or more consecutive weeks, Drought-Extreme, or Drought-Exceptional. The designation allows the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency to extend much-needed emergency credit to recovery from natural disasters through emergency loans. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.
