The National Weather Service issued a Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central and North-Central Texas, in effect until 11:00 pm this evening. This watch includes the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Waco, Killeen, and Temple. The primary severe weather threats will be large hail to the size of apples (3 inches in diameter) and damaging wind gusts to 70 mph. A few isolated tornadoes may also be possible. Persons in and around the watch area are advised to stay tuned to the latest weather information, and be prepared to take severe weather precautions should a warning be issued for their location. The watch area is in purple.
